On July 15, the Sarsang oil field, located in the Jamanki district of Al-Amadiyah in Duhok province, part of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, was targeted in a drone attack.
The attack occurred at 7 AM local time, leading to a halt in operations for the American oil company HKN, which is involved in this oil field. While the explosion did not result in any casualties, it caused material damage. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack on the Sarsang oil field.
It is important to note that this was the second drone attack in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq within 24 hours. Earlier, the Khurmala oil field in Erbil province was targeted by two suicide drones. In recent weeks, there has been a notable increase in drone attacks on energy facilities across Iraq.
