Eyal Zamir, the Chief of Staff of the Israeli regime, visited the Gaza Strip on May 20th with several Israeli army commanders to gain an update on the current situation regarding the regime’s ground operations.
During his visit to Gaza, Zamir stated that Hamas would face the consequences of its stubbornness, and Israel would respond with intensive and widespread attacks.
He declared that the ground operations would be expanded, resulting in the occupation of more areas in Gaza. According to Zamir, Hamas has only one option: the release of Israeli prisoners.
In response to comments made by Yair Golan, the leader of the Democratic Party in the occupied territories, who clarified the Israeli army of killing children in Gaza for sport, Zamir insisted that the Israeli army always operates in accordance with protocols, laws, and international regulations!
Zamir references adherence to international laws; however, the majority of the casualties and injuries in Gaza are Palestinian children and women. It remains unclear which protocols and laws he is referring to in this context!
