Yair Golan, the head of the Israeli Democratic Party and former deputy chief of staff of the regime’s army, strongly criticized the war policies of the Netanyahu government.
Noting that Israel is increasingly hated by other nations, he stated that a normal country does not wage war against civilians, does not kill children for amusement, and does not aim to expel residents from its territory. He criticized the current government for being filled with individuals driven by a spirit of revenge, lacking in morality, and incapable of effectively managing the country’s affairs, ultimately posing a threat to Israel’s existence.
Golan’s remarks have sparked various reactions from officials in the Israeli regime. Former Prime Minister Ehud Barak called Yair Golan a brave man for his statements. In contrast, Benjamin Netanyahu accused Golan of treason and acting in service of the enemy, arguing that anyone in Israeli military uniform who compares the army to the Nazis and claims the regime kills children for fun has descended to the lowest level.
